Ah, this series!
I've so far listened to every book Rae Carson has published as an audiobook, and I've actually followed this series from the start.

In the beginning I thought her writing a bit slow.
It's good, don't get me wrong, but the way she tells the story... not much action.
As I've grown as a reader, tho, I've learned that not everything happening needs to be plain action.
Carson's books are full of adventure and interesting twists, but you need to like intrigue and plotting to like her books.
I'm not usually a big fan of those things - not as the sole drive in a book - but in this series, it works great, seeing as it is so much at stake. Not just plotting to humiliate this or that person or rival, but planning to save as many lives in as many ways as possible.
I've grown to strongly enjoy this series, much because of it.

What else can I say without spoiling?
Well, the story through out the entire series is based in the same point, which I like. It is clear the author has sat down and planned.

Her writing is also good, and it's been fun getting to know it the way I have.
Other than this, I don't really have anything else to say about this book.
I really enjoyed it, to the stage of listening for 4 hours straight through, and have come to care about the world and the characters.
I'm actually a little sad the series is over.
